Before I Start
Right so to give you a rough idea of what is happening over the next few months this is currently what is going on for those of you who don't already know.
I have just recently handed in my notice at AGB Nielsen and will be finishing up here in London at the end of December. That will conclude the 22 months that I would have been here and it culminates with a well-deserved trip to the East. I leave for Bangkok on the 4th January 2007 and arrive there in the hope that I will find Brendan O'Connor and Laura Wilson, 2 friends of mine who I met and lived with in the 2 and half years I spent living and working in Ireland. They are currently enjoying an around-the-world trip and their last leg of their journey starts in Bangkok.
From Bangkok we will head North and see the what the jungles of Thailand have to offer before turning right and making our way into Cambodia. Once in Cambodia we will head South towards the coast and then West back into Thailand. We will then make our way down the leg of Thailand and sample some of the beaches it has to offer.
Bren and Laura leave for South Africa on the 8th of February which is when I will have to make a decision as to my next step. In the weeks to follow I will meet up with Greg Webb who currently lives in China and a possible option is for us to travel through Vietnam for a couple of weeks.
My trip finally ends on the 15th of March when I fly back to London for one last weekend hopefully sporting a tan that would make Brian Lara jealous before leaving for SA on the 19th March.
By the time I arrive back in SA it would have been over 4 and half years since I first left for Ireland and I think I will be looking very forward to settling back in Durban after this awesome time that I have spent overseas.
Right so that is the state of play at the moment. If anyone has any travel tips or advice to give me before I go, I would welcome anything you have to say on the matter.
